Dr Pedro Ilgenfritz – Artistic director and senior tutor
Originally from Brazil, Dr Pedro Ilgenfritz has a PhD in theatre, masters in theatre directing and is an internationally renowned specialist in acting training with over 30 years of experience. Pedro worked as a senior lecturer and head of movement at Unitec Performing and Screen Arts for 18 years, is a theatre director and dramaturg specialised in works of the theatre with emphasis on the actor’s creation, improvisation, mask and clown.
Fleur de Thier – Senior tutor
Fleur has been working professionally in the dance industry for the last 32 years. She trained for three years full time at Auckland Performing Arts School (now Unitec) graduating in 1991. She worked as a freelance dancer in Auckland before returning to base herself in Christchurch in 1993. Fleur is an established New Zealand choreographer and has had works featured nationally in Arts Festivals throughout the last decade. Fleur is known for her diversity and connections with many different companies Including Jolt Dance Theatre, Rebound, Southern Lights Dance Company, Unitec, Footnote and Hagley Dance Company. Fleur has most recently been exploring collaborations with visual artists presenting works with sculptor Robyn Webster and Puppet Maker Simon van den Sluijs.
Mary Davison – Administrator
Mary Davison is a New Zealand-born artist and educator with a background in theatre, circus arts and music. For nearly 20 years she was based in Barcelona where she performed with a number of renowned theatre, dance and music companies, touring extensively throughout Europe and performing at major international festivals. Mary’s experience in arts education spans nearly 40 years working with schools, tertiary institutions, early education, NGOs and corporate organisations. She has directed and managed community arts-based projects and programmes in Sydney, London, Barcelona and Catalonia. Back home now, Mary has most recently performed with Fleur de Thier & Simon van der Sluijs (LAF), Robyn Jordaan (MAP) and Tessa Waters (Feminist Clown Posse) as well as her own original show Toast (Little A.)
